Give your child the tools to handle social
situations with confidence and ease. This fun and interactive 6 session program will cover Proper Introductions, Meeting and Greeting, Table Manners, Telephone Etiquette and Thank You Notes. Food will be served at five of the six classes and the 5th class will be held at a fine dining restaurant. Dressy attire is appropriate for this special evening. Parents are invited to attend the last class for a review and discussion of the new knowledge and viewing of the certificate presentation. Class size is limited to 10.

The Nevin Academy, under the direction Maura Nevin, TCRG, holds class at the South Shore Community Center on Tuesday (beginner class at 4:30). We welcome new beginners, ages 41/2 through adults. Nevin Academy trains dancers of all levels and they are encouraged to have fun while learning more about Irish culture and dance. Our
dancers also have the opportunity to compete in competitions around the world, recently
capturing the Under 11 and Under 13 Ceili team titles at Cape Cod Championships . In the summer of 2007 we were National
Champion winners in the minor and junior Ceili competitions in Ottawa, Canada. Over the July 4th holiday, the Nevin Academy dancers will travel to Nashville, TN to compete in the
Nationals again this year. If interested in

STUNT PLANES & GLIDERS

This workshop will fly the children through the basics of flight and aerodynamics before
making practical use of this knowledge when students build their own stunt planes and
gliders, including a mind-boggling football plane and awesome loop-flying stunt plane. The children will learn about the four forces that affect a plane in flight: drag, gravity, lift and forward thrust, and they will witness,
experience, play with, and use these forces to their advantage in the construction
of incredible paper planes.

Welcome to the wild world of weather! In this workshop, through hands-on activities and exciting demonstrations participants will
investigate why it rains, what causes lighting and even how weather can be predicted via a science called meteorology. They’ll step into the shoes of a meteorologist and create some of their own regional weather forecasts, and they’ll make a UV detector to take home so they can continue to explore the amazing
world of weather.

This workshop is fun introduction to the
science of astronomy and to the vastness of the Universe. The children will explore the outer reaches of space through hands-on and will understand why we continue our voyages of discovery to the Moon and beyond! In the workshop, participants will use simple
materials to quickly learn their way around the skies, and a model of planets will demonstrate the different, relative sizes of the planets in our galaxy. The children will also make their very own propeller-driven rocket ship!
